is a visual, musical, and literary renaissance man. His
work is the product of the thoughts, meditations, conversations,
and questions he poses for himself and humanity, about life
and society. His unique style of cut paper is colorfully moving
and exciting, and adds current commentary to our society and
the questions which have been posed by man since existence.
To create his work he only uses a regular scissor (no-exacto
knives), a black sharpie, a glue stick, and different colored
paper. He does not draw anything out before hand. His artistic
improvisation for composition and color is
an artistic complement to the deep questions and messages
experienced within each piece. His current body of work entitled
“Mental Space” is a journey through the mindscape
of space and time, encompassing societal issues, and posing
worldly questions about life and our place within the universe
and beyond.
About The Artist:
Marc Daniel Paper Scissor Hands the 3rd was born on January
24, 1986. He grew up in South Florida and attended the University
of Central Florida and Florida Atlantic University studying
the art of communication and psychology which has influenced
both the creation of his art and the manner in which he presents
it.
Creativity was
instilled in him as a young child and there was always art,
music, and theater surrounding him. As a member of the National
Forensic and Debate team, he performed as an actor and a public
speaker in national tournaments across the US. He won countless
awards including State Champion of Florida for Duo Interpretation.
In college Marc
then started to think and ask himself many deep questions
about life. His conversations within his own inner thought
and with others about the these fundamental questions brought
about a collection of pieces called “Mental Space”
and with it a whole universe of ideas and different thoughts
that Marc thought needed to be expressed about life and society.
Marc then began
writing poetry, excited about the questions and inspired by
a dream he had, which he describes in the poem/song entitled
“Time”. He immersed himself into the world art
and music. He taught himself how to play electric bass and
acoustic guitar. He writes and performs his original music
at different coffee shops in South Florida with his band “Marc
and the Believers”. Music is a very big part of MarcPaperScissor
and it has been a driving force behind his creativity.
Marc’s website
www.MarcPaperScissor.com reflects his unique style. He created
it entirely out of cut paper which was then scanned into a
computer. He is currently working on writing and illustrating
a children's poetry book about space. He is also in the process
of recording the "Marc and the Believers" CD. He
is in his final year at Florida Atlantic University were he
his working towards his goal of becoming a professional artist
with his very own studio. Marc believes that art can be both
playful and powerful and his greatest hope is to use his work
to inspire thought and change.

"Words
do not express thoughts very well. They always become a little
different immediately they are expressed, a little distorted,
a little foolish. And yet it also pleases me and seems right
that what is of value and wisdom to one man seems nonsense
to another." -Buddha-
"Art can enrich the lives of ordinary people and can
transcend national, religious, and ethnic barriers."
